Scholarship Program Guide

Program Overview

The Scholarship Program of the VKV-VLV Alpha/Mother Alumni Association aims to provide financial assistance to qualified and deserving members in support of their academic pursuits. The stipend is intended to help ease enrollment-related expenses while promoting transparency, responsibility, and service.

Scholarship Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Open to all resident members of the VKV – VLV Alpha/Mother Chapter
  • Must be an active member of the organization
  • No maintaining grade is required; however, all subjects taken must have passing grades
  • A Statement of Account must be submitted by the resident scholar to ensure transparency
  • The scholarship stipend shall serve as partial payment for enrollment

Endorsement Committee

The Endorsement Committee shall be responsible for reviewing and endorsing qualified applicants. It is composed of the following officers:

  • Faculty Adviser
  • Grand Knight
  • Grand Lady
  • Knight Seneschal
  • Lady Seneschal

Responsibilities of the Endorsement Committee
  • Evaluate applicants based on eligibility and involvement
  • Prepare and submit a formal recommendation letter to the VKV – VLV Alpha/Mother Alumni Association
  • Endorse qualified applicants for nomination as scholarship candidates

Selection Process

The selection of scholarship recipients shall follow a structured and transparent process:

Submission of a recommendation letter from the Endorsement Committee is required for nomination.

Shortlisted applicants shall undergo a brief interview conducted by officers of the Alumni Association.

The following factors shall be evaluated prior to the release of the chosen scholar:
  • Financial situation of the applicant
  • Willingness to give back and contribute to the program upon graduation

Scholar Responsibilities

Approved scholars are expected to uphold the values and standards of the Venerable Knight/Lady Veterinarians Fraternity/Sorority. Scholars shall:

  • Maintain passing grades in all enrolled subjects
  • Remain an active and responsible member of the Fraternity/Sorority
  • Submit updated Statements of Account or proof of enrollment when required
  • Demonstrate good moral character and conduct
  • Participate in activities or initiatives related to the scholarship program when feasible

Scholarship Duration and Renewal

  • The scholarship shall be valid for one (1) academic semester only
  • Renewal shall be conducted every semester, subject to evaluation of the scholar's compliance with program requirements
  • Continued support is not automatic and shall depend on availability of funds and performance review

Scholarship Funding Source

  • The scholarship program shall be funded through financial donations from various members of the VKV–VLV Alpha/Mother Alumni Association
  • Donations may vary per semester depending on availability and willingness of alumni contributors
  • Proper documentation and transparency in fund utilization shall be strictly observed

Scholarship Disbursement Guidelines

  • The scholarship stipend shall be released as partial payment for enrollment-related expenses
  • Mode and schedule of release shall be determined by the Alumni Association
  • Disbursement is subject to the submission and verification of required documents

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • The academic standing and membership status of the scholar shall be monitored periodically
  • Scholars may be required to submit progress updates or academic records upon request
  • Failure to comply with program requirements may result in review or suspension of the scholarship

Grounds for Termination of Scholarship

The scholarship may be discontinued under the following circumstances:

  • Failure to maintain passing grades
  • Inactive status or violation of Fraternity/Sorority rules
  • Submission of false or misleading information
  • Misuse of scholarship funds

Donor Recognition and Appreciation

The Venerable Knight/Lady Veterinarians Fraternity/Sorority and the VKV–VLV Alumni Association formally recognize and express sincere gratitude to all donors who contribute to the Scholarship Program.

  • Donors shall be acknowledged through appropriate means as determined by the Alumni Association (e.g., reports, announcements, or official communications)
  • Recognition shall respect donor preferences, including requests for anonymity
  • Contributions shall be used solely for their intended purpose, with transparency and accountability

Program Commitment and Sustainability

Scholars are encouraged to express willingness to give back to the program upon graduation, whether through service, mentorship, or future financial support, to help sustain the scholarship for future members.
